This Cycladic island with an impressive and accessible beaches that are found all along the length of the island. The traveling distances of the island are small and together with a well-planned road system it is easy for a visitor to see practically the entire island by car. In Kythnos you will find solar and wind power stations, which take advantage of the bright Cycladic sun and the strong winds that are forever present on the island. Scarce are the windmills on the island, most the make a most wonderful sight along with the churches. The main town is built on a hill and is decorated with the traditional Cycladic colors. The port of the island is called Merihas, and is built on a natural bay. It is worth a visit to the villages of Loutra and Aghios Dimitrios.
